Two-point measurement of entropy production from the outcomes of a single experiment with correlated photon pairs

Fluctuation theorems are one of the pillars non-equilibrium thermodynamics. Broadly speaking, they concern statistical distribution quantities such as heat, work or entropy production. Quantum experiments, however, usually can only assess these distributions indirectly. In this letter we provide an experimental demonstration a quantum fluctuation theorem where production is obtained directly from outcomes (clicks) optical experiment. The setup consists entangled photon pairs, which sent interferometer emulating finite temperature amplitude damping device. Blocking specific paths tantamount to restricting possible configurations reservoir. And by measuring its pair, implement two-point measurement scheme, thus avoiding destructive nature photo-detection.
